Built for this town
Why Belleville homes get the pests they get
More than a quarter of the housing here went up before 1940, and the median home dates to 1962. The German street houses and brick foursquares around Old Belleville, Hexenbukel and the Oakland district sit close to the sidewalk on stone and early concrete foundations, full of the settled cracks, weep holes and low sill plates that ants, mice and brown recluse spiders use as front doors. The historic district alone covers roughly 700 properties, so this is most of the town, not a corner of it.
Underneath all of it, St. Clair County sits in a moderate to heavy termite zone. Eastern subterranean termites work the soil year round and swarm from March through May, usually after a warm rain, and the first visible sign is often a pencil-width mud tube climbing a basement wall. That is why Belleville Pest Control starts almost every job at the foundation line and works inward, rather than spraying baseboards and hoping.
- Termite pressure
- Zone rated moderate to heavy; swarms run March through May
- Housing stock
- 26.4% of Belleville homes predate 1940; median build year 1962
- Spider of note
- The brown recluse is native to southern Illinois and lives indoors here

How a visit runs
The perimeter walk, in five steps
- Walk the perimeter
Every visit starts outside: foundation line, grade, mulch depth, weep holes, utility penetrations and door sweeps.
- Name the pest
We identify the species, not just the category, because an odorous house ant and a carpenter ant need different treatments.
- Treat the entry, not just the sighting
Products go where the pest lives and travels: the soil line, the wall void, the harborage, the nest.
- Seal and prove it
Exclusion work closes the gaps we found, and we show you each one before and after.
- Check back
Follow-ups and quarterly visits confirm the line is holding and catch the next season before it starts.

Before you call
Questions Belleville homeowners ask first
Yes. Calls are answered 24 hours a day, every day. Night calls are usually wasp stings, bed bug discoveries, bats in living space, or rodents heard in a wall, and we can book the first available slot while you are on the line.
Both. Termite inspections and treatments, including soil treatments and bait systems, are core work for us because of how heavy termite pressure runs in St. Clair County.
For most of Belleville and the surrounding towns we can schedule same-day or next-day, and stinging insect and rodent calls get priority. We will give you a real window on the phone, not a promise we cannot keep.
We use targeted applications in the places pests actually travel, and we will tell you exactly what is being applied, where, and any re-entry time before we start. Most visits need no more than keeping kids and pets off treated areas until dry.
It depends on the pest and the structure, which is why every treatment page on this site lists the factors that move the price. We quote before work begins, and the quote is the price.
Most days our own technicians handle everything on the schedule. If a call lands while every crew is committed or outside our reach, we may forward it to another trusted local provider so you still get help fast, and we say so plainly when it happens.
One call does it
Tell us what you are seeing. We will tell you what it is.
Describe the ant trail, the droppings, the tube on the block wall or the noise over the bedroom, and we will walk you through what happens next.
